Origins of reflexology - a brief history
Reflexology refers to a technique of foot and lower leg massage developed in China over 5000 years ago. It was later used in Egypt and is depicted in tomb art dating from around 2000BC. During the 19th century Zone therapy was developed and explored the ancient concept that the body's organs, membranes and bones corresponded to areas on the feet which can be remotely manipulated to have an effect upon general health. It is now respected and widely used in modern clinics today.
